Meet Rayyan Chandna, Jessica Anziano, Mohammed Hasan, Emily McElheran, and Clara Curic, creators of Clickmxte. This team, currently in their third year of the iBioMed program at McMaster University, came together to collaborate on this innovation, that showcases their diverse skills and perspectives, including expertise in chemical and software engineering.
Clickmxte was developed through their IP10 design project course at McMaster University with the goal of automating an aspect of life to improve quality of life. Driven by a desire to help Jessica’s neighbour with scleroderma, the team identified the challenges she faced in using a computer mouse. To address this, they designed a dual-component computer mouse offering a more comfortable user experience while maintaining precision and functionality. This innovative design requires the user to navigate the computer using both hands.
Through Residency @ The Clinic, the team developed valuable connections, including healthcare providers and the Technology Access Clinic. They greatly appreciate the guidance and expertise shared by coach Lianna Genovese, CEO and founder of ImaginAble Solutions, who provided insights from her own experience creating assistive technology. Beyond their participation in the Residency, this team values the ongoing support provided by The Clinic, including use of the dedicated workspace and staff that facilitates the continued development of their innovation.
Looking ahead, the team plans to further develop their innovation as they continue studies at McMaster University. They are excited about the future and the potential impact Clickmxte can have in improving the lives of others.
