The Clinic
Founded on the strength of a gift from physician-entrepreneur-philanthropist Marnix E. Heersink and his family, The Clinic is based in a dedicated 3,000 sq ft space in the Health Sciences Library in the McMaster University Medical Centre. This space is a hub for training, networking, consulting, resource access and skill development for learners and innovators. The Clinic also offers a virtual library of resources that is curated for our learners and is one of only two Mitacs-approved incubators at McMaster University.

The Marnix E. Heersink School of Biomedical Innovation & Entrepreneurship
The Marnix E. Heersink School of Biomedical Innovation & Entrepreneurship opened in early 2025, marking a major milestone in McMaster University’s commitment to advancing health innovation. Located on the third floor of the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning & Discovery, the Heersink School is home to the Master of Biomedical Innovation (MBI) program as well as other flagship offerings, including the Masterclass series and additional training initiatives. Its purpose-built spaces support immersive learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, prototyping, and commercialization. Today, the Heersink School serves as a central hub where students, clinicians, researchers, and faculty engage in challenge-based education and industry partnerships—empowering the next generation of health-tech innovators to move from ideation to real-world impact.
